Just found this site. Looks like a wealth of info!
So I've got a Frigidaire Gallery Series electric double oven. Bottom oven elements do not function or heat. Panel display works fine. Where to start with the troubleshooting?

Please check your model number I cannot find any info on the given number. I can find info on a GLEB27T9DB, see below. Parts are for a DBB unit but are most likely tha same as a DBC unit. Here are your parts Parts for Frigidaire GLEB27T9DBB Wall Oven - AppliancePartsPros.comHere is the wiring diagram. http://manuals.frigidaire.com/p...assomption/318046121.pdfAs you can see in the wiring there is a thermal circuit breaker in the element circuit. I think it is item 119 in section 07. I would start with that. If the square red button is up then the breaker has opened. Push the button into reset it. If not popped still measure across contacts with a meter to be sure it is closed. If it has popped try to figure out why it blew. Does the cooling fan run? Check the oven sensor. Since tis thing is probably going to be a pain to remove from the wall I would try to run it when it is uninstalled before putting it back permanently. |

Sorrry, I did not copy the model no. down correctly. It's GLEB27T9DBC. It's definately a "C".
The fan in the back of the oven cabinet (I guess it's for the convection function) doesn't come on when the oven is in convection mode. The exhaust fan does come on.

Convection will not work correctly without it's fan.
But if you never use convection it should not cause a problem. |

Well, since the lower oven doesn't heat up at all, it doesn't matter whether the convection function works or not. I was attempting to answer your question on the operation of the cooling fan, but wasn't sure if the "cooling" fan was the convection fan or the exhaust fan?

The wiring diagram is for a C just the parts are for a B but they are probably the same.
Sorry but I thought you already had the unit up and running and were doing the checks to see if you could find a cause. |

I'm just starting on attempting to troubleshoot the problem. So to confirm, in your original posting I think you were indicating that the oven had to be removed from the cabinet to access the thermal circuit breaker, which is the first test to perform - is that correct?

Yes, I would check the thermal circuit breaker first. |
