The wash cycle starts fine, fills and starts the pre-wash. At some point it stops, lights still on indicating the wash cycle is active, but there is no noise. If I whack the control panel area then the cycle continues after several seconds (washing action). This has been happening more frequently over the last couple weeks. We are not selecting heated wash or rinse. I suspect the timer is getting stuck, but I think it is a digital timer so I don't know what the 'jolt' is causing to get back on track. I am thinking about replacing the control panel, but don't want to jump in and spend the money unless that is the real problem.
There have been times when I think the dishwasher has just sat there for a couple hours waiting to be jolted back on track.
Thanks
Karl

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool DU1055XTSQ2 Dishwasher - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. If it is an electronic problem then I would suspect the control board, not the control panel (keypad). Sounds like you have a bad connection somewhere. At the top of my list would be the door switch that is in the motor and heater circuit path. Check that all connections to in the motor are clean and tight. Check that any connectors are properly crimped. Check that the switch is activated properly re: the little plunger is pushed in properly when the latch is closed. Be sure to remove power from the unit when doing this. I I could not find any problems then I would replace that switch. A lot cheaper than a control board and jsut as likely to be the cause. |
