So the dryer isn't heating. I've taken the front off and tested both fuses and they're showing continuity. As is the heating element. (all continuity tests at room temp)

There are 2 thermostats, one on the element, and one on the exhaust.
The one on the element is this one: PICTURE

With this one, the pins don't match up to any video or how-to's I've seen so where should I be checking for continuity?
I get continuity across 2-4 only and not any other combination.
It also has a little rattle when I shake it.

the exhaust one: PICTURE
This is 3 pin, and again, not sure where I should be checking for continuity. I only get continuity across the two lower pins. (These two pins are at the same height/tier and one on the next tier up. It's hard to see in the picture as it's from above, but if you see the way the first thermostat has two 'tiers' then you get the idea).

This one also rattles. (that can't be good, right?)

We must have done a boat load of laundry in a short time previous because the lint trap was full and I empty it fairly regularly.

All help very, very, VERY much appreciated. :)

Martin.

Here are your parts
Parts for Maytag LDE8410ADW Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is a service manual. You will have to join the site and be logged in to be able to download the manual.

It does not have your wiring diagram but may at least help you with the thermostats Maytag use with this vintage of units.
I cannot see one that is real close to yours as your unit doew not show a temperature switch in the parts.

Did you look for the wiring diagram in the control console. Often they like to store them there.

And yes rattling is a bad thing.
