Are the springs original?

Check if the tension can be adjusted.

No, the springs are new. They are part of the hinge.

The is one of the most simplest door hinge. It is not adjustable and I never had any problems.
How much pressure you have to put on the door to keep it open?
I do not see any reasonable solutions.

when I open the door in the fully open position, it doesn't stay down. It springs right back up. I have to apply a normal amount of pressure to open the door. When I have to place a large pan in it with two hands, I need someone to hold the door open for me.

I think the problem is that Caloric was taken over by Amana and then Maytag, Whirlpool. I'm not sure who owns it now. But you can't get Caloric parts now. The parts I received are in a bag with Maytag on it and also has a Whirlpool Corp label on it too. Part #Y07655200. How do I get an original Caloric part without looking for someone to throw out their old Caloric oven and taking a part off of it?

How did you run the part search?
Where did you get the part number?
What is the exact model number of the unit?
