I cleaned off all of the parts on the back. The compressor and a couple of the other parts feel hot, and I haven't seen the condenser fan run at all. It also seems difficult to turn by hand, which made me think that I should probably replace it, but I'm not a refrigerator expert, and I don't want to go on a wild goose chase replacing random parts on an old refrigerator. Could anyone tell me if they think the condenser fan motor kit is a good bet for what is causing the problem? Also, would I need to replace the entire thing, or is it possible that I could take it apart and replace a bearing or something to get it working?

Just replace the fan. The fridge will not cool properly without the fan running. You can temporarily place a fan behind the fridge if your remove the cover.

So if I place a fan behind it and it doesn't start working better does that mean that the condenser fan motor wasn't the problem, or are you pretty sure that if the fan isn't working, that is the problem?

Yes, if it cools ok with a fan blowing on the coils that will show you your fan needs to be running. And yes I'm sure. You have to have that fan blowing on the condenser coils for the unit to work properly.
