Checking with a small inspection mirror, I can see that the baffle is wide open. When I put it into diagnostic mode the fan baffle cycles open-closed-open-closed but the fan is not running. (I think it is supposed to be running during this test.) So the baffle does not appear to be binding or iced up and frozen open but it does appear to be always open.

Yesterday you asked if the vegetable bin drawer vent was frosting even when closed. This morning I cleaned it and closed it. Now, eight hours later, there is frost collecting around the outside of the slide housing.

The new control board installed with out problems and in the diagnostic mode the baffle opens and closes. However, even on the lowest settings for freezer and refrigerator, it is 30 degrees in the food compartment. I have not check the freezer temperature but the ice cream is as hard as a brick! I listen for the evaporator fan every time I walk through the kitchen. It always seems to be running, even first thing in the morning when the door has not been open all night. Could there be a thermostat issue, inspite of the "good" diagnostic mode reading?

Yes, I replaced that with the new baffle. Are there resistance values I can check? Is the second thermistor the same?
