there is frozen water in the icecube tray. looks like water is leaking out of the icemaker and freezing in the tray. is this a water valve problem or icemaker problem?

The most likely to be at fault is the water inlet valve. Are the ice cubes of normal size or do you find they are all too large and stuck together?

hi thanks for the info. ice cubes are regular size but there is one spot under the icemaker that has the frozen water leak under it and a clump of frozen water and ice cubes stuck to it. i will open the back panel and remove the valve for replacing. thanks again!

The mounting plate (number 2) will come free after a few screws have been removed, allowing access to remove the valve (number 10). If your hoses do not unscrew from your existing valve, they have what are called Guest fittings. To release them, you have to hold the little plastic washer in that is near the the valve at each hose and pull the hose out. That washer is what releases the hoses, so be sure you press them in. Take note (and maybe even a picture) of where the hoses are on the valve to avoid confusion when replacing the valve. The correct part for your model is available at the link below. ok i got the part out and went and got a new one. i wasn't thinking and didn't take a picture before i took all the hoses out so now im not sure which hose goes where. there are two connections on the back and one on the front of the part. does the line coming out of the filter go into the one connection on the back? this is where i am stuck now!!!! oh boy. thanks again for your help!!! :)

Yes, the single connector is where the inlet line from the filter goes. The other tow fittings are sized differently so they will only go one way. Just push the tubes in very firmly until they lock into place.

thats what i thought. it was all good but now there is water all over the floor! i turned the water off so now i just have to figure out what i did wrong. i checked to make sure the hoses were on tight before i closed everything up so i don't know why its leaking. is it possible they weren't on tight enough? i will recheck tomorrow unless there is another reason. hope you have a good night and thank you!

Make sure the tubing is pushed in very tight. If you removed plastic compression nuts to accommodate the new valve fittings, you may need to cut that tubing back just a bit so you have a smooth surface for the rubber O ring in each of the fittings to seal around. If you need to remove those lines, be sure to hold in that plastic washer then pull them out. Do not forcefully pull them out or the valve will be damaged.
