Need help in determining if I need to replace the Panel/ctrl board 856543 or control board #8531257? I have checked the door switches and the fuse and the have connectivity using the ohm meter. The top control panel flashes the normal light and two dashes appear in the display. I am not able to reset the the unit using the touch panel. if I unplug the unit and wait about an hour the panel will not show any lights. Then if I try a function it will work for about a minute then goes back to the same error lights.

Your touch panel is experiencing a failure. You may need to replace the control panel but there is a trick you can try first. Turn the power off to the appliance. Use a hair dryer to heat the panel up until very warm while rubbing very firmly over the buttons. Often times, this will restore operation. Be sure to get the panel very warm but not hot enough to damage the plastic. If this does not work, the panel will need to be replaced. Let me know what happens and I can get you the correct part information.
