temp on freezer side will run about 22-30F. Checked to see if condenser coils were plugged - they weren't. Problem just started - worked fine a day ago.

Can you hear a fan running in the freezer section? Can you see any frost on the back wall inside the freezer?

Can you remove the rear panel from inside the freezer and get a look at the aluminum evaporator coil? Is it frosted evenly or heavily in one area?

I looked through the grill on the bottom of the evaporator cover plate and there is no frost build-up on the bottom coils that I can see . Do I need to take the cover plate off anyway?

It will be important to know if there is any frost on the evaporator in any area, sorry. It is not real hard to get off, it should only take a few minutes.

I took the cover off and the only place there was frost was at the inlet/outlet ? pipe going into the top of the evaporator coil. I could see no frost on the finned section at all.

That means you have a sealed system problem, likely a low refrigerant level. This is not a repair you will able to perform as it requires specialized tools and training. You will need to call for an on site repair or replace the refrigerator.
