I have a GE Microwave and it works but will not heat up. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Is it an easy fix? The model is JVM1410BC 001.

When you start the microwave to cook, does it sound different than it used to, like much quieter or make a growling type noise?

Everything works it just doesn't heat the food up. It has also made a little more noise.

It is likely that the magnetron is faulty. You will need an ammeter to measure the current draw while running to diagnose with more certainty, though. Keep in mind that microwaves use a very high voltage (> 3,000 VAC) during operation and there is potential for harm while servicing, even while unplugged! Knowing this, you will have to decide if you are comfortable replacing the magnetron.
