The wires connecting to bottom heating element in oven melted. Everyting else works fine. Does anybody know if I can just replace the bottom heating element and cut a splice same gauge of wire to make it work again?

That will work fine, but use of a high temp wire and terminals as well as ceramic wire nuts is recommended.

Sounds good! Let me know if you run into trouble during install. Have a great weekend!

GE does not sell the wires and connectors as parts. They said it is part of the main harness and they don't sell those. Do generic clips come in a heat rating that is high enough for the oven? Do you know if they sell high temp wire and terminals at Home Depot or Lowes?

I always used high temp 12 gauge wire whenever possible and high temp steel crimp on terminals. If I remember right they were rated for 900 degrees F.

The 1/4 inch one in the lower right of this picture is the one I used most of the time.

I don't know if they sell them at the hardware stores, but they might.
