First post, hoping someone can help with my Kenmore dishwasher. It had been working without issue until it didn't (no symptoms prior to failure). Operating panel LED's for first 4 cycles (SmartWash, Pots/Pans, Normal, China) will light when selected, all other LED's will not light. The steady LED on the one selected goes out after about 30 seconds.

Troubleshooting has included:
* Disconnect from power, as long as overnight.
* Checked wire harness for evident fray/wear - none seen.
* Tried reset sequences found online - none seemed to work.
* Checked continuity on latch switches - OK.
* Replaced thermal fuse - no change.

We are hoping to repair instead of replace this unit, given the current economy. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You likely have a faulty touch panel. You may need to replace the control panel but there is a trick you can try first. Cut the power to the appliance. Use a hair dryer to heat the panel up until very warm while rubbing over the buttons very firmly. Often times, this will restore operation. Be sure to get the panel very warm but not hot enough to damage the plastic. If this does not work, the panel will need to be replaced. Let me know what happens and I can get you the correct part information.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately heating the op panel didn't bring any changes at all. If that part is serviceable I could try to clean it, otherwise a part number would help greatly! Thanks again. Bob W

Cleaning won't help that issue, unfortunately. The panel will need to be replaced. What color is your dishwasher, please?

Color is white/off-white, photo attached of the panel itself. Thanks again!

Thank you, that white touch panel is available below. To access it for replacement, remove the screws from around the inner door and separate the panels. The touch panel simply plugs into the main electronic control, so replacement is not difficult.
