Hi,

My Jenn-Air Ice Door Flap is not opening completely. This causes the ice cubes to jam up. It's closing fine, once I clear out the ice. Its there a solenoid or something similar that controls the door opening and closing? The only solenoid I see on the parts list is #33, water solenoid. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

The number 33 is indeed what opens and closes the ice chute door. However, they don't fail very often where they only partially open the door. It is more likely that the door is not opening well because of a partially broken strike (number 24). Does it appear to be broken on either of the tabs that act as hinges and swing the door up and down?

Looks like there is a slight crack in one of the strike arms (24). Solenoid does appear to be working, but not opening the door all the way. Hard to tell without taking completely apart. I'll start with the strike, especially given that its quite a bit less expensive than the solenoid. Thanks for your help.

I suspect that will remedy your problem, but please post back if you still have issues after replacing it.
