While turning on one of the burners, I heard a "pop" I turned the circuit breaker back on but that element and the one beside it are now not working.

I thought of a blown switch or element, however it seems odd to me that two would go at the same time.

Any idea what the problem might be, or what trouble shooting steps to take next?

I appreciate any input you might have.

Here are your parts
Parts for Amana AKH30 / P8597801S - AppliancePartsPros.com

On most units one of the power lines (L1 or L2) goes directly to and feeds the ytwo elements on one side.
You will have to open it up to see if this wire has shorted to something.

FYI: the other side of the elements then go to their respective infinite controls and the other side of the line to control that elements heat output.
