my Whirlpool Duet under heavy load has a smell like a plastic getting warm.
the drive motor seems to be hot to the touch at this point.
the cycle stops and door locks stays locked if I unplug machine from wall and let cool down then it will spend and finish cycle
I did test the drive motor and came up with 5.4 ohms on 1 2 and 3 terminals.
could I replace the motor and solve the problem or will I be shooting in the dark?
I will take any advice at this time I would like to wash machine to make it for another year but then replace was something more reliable.
