My dryer has stopped heating. Removing the back panel revealed that the wire connecting heating element and high limit thermostat burned through completely through at the heating element terminal and almost through at the high limit thermostat terminal. I checked both parts with a multimeter and they both showed continuity so I'm not quite sure which is the culprit. Are there any other parts I should check? Should I just replace both parts?

For reference, I replaced high limit thermostat and the thermal fuse around a year and half ago and the dryer had been working well up until this point.

Thanks in advance for any advice and suggestions!

if they just burned you have a problem things don't burn in a dryer for no reason. Is it gas or electric?
