We have a Kitchenaid dishwasher that was washing dishes properly and not it seems to not be cleaning the dishes. Placed a cup in top rack and it didn't fill with water during cycle. Upper rack and lower rack equally dirty. Started cycle and checked water level is below heating coil. Added about 6 cups of water and the dishwasher seems to be washing correctly and getting water in the cup on the top rack. From research we did we were wondering if it was the inlet valve? Could there be any other issues?

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool KUDS40FVWH3 Dishwasher - AppliancePartsPros.comSounds like you have diagnosed the problem correctly. You may want to remove and check the valve before getting a new one. It could be that the screen filter on the inlet of the valve is partially clogged. If yes clean it. Do not remove it as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold it open and cause a flood. If it is clean I would replace the valve |
