I have a Jenn Air TC40786 compactor that is basically stuck in the lowest position. The motor runs and the 2 tower gears turn but it will not reverse. what tells the motor to stop compacting? There is a switch on the motor fsp 777971 (780164 new part #) that is very simple looks like a contact block with brass contacts. On the of the contacts in there was burned. I wiped it off and put it back together but I don't think that is the issue. I think its a symptom of something else. What holds the compactor weight up? If I pull it up from the top is just falls down. For such a simple device it has me stumped.
