How long are timer control switches good for?? I only you washer maybe 5 loads a week. My switch quite working in less than 2 years. I now purchased a new one and it is defective. Anyone else having problems with switches?? Are they a crappy design from a crappy company??

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL TAWX700PQ2 | AppliancePartsPros.com

You will see that the unit is actually a Whirlpool which is a pretty good company.

Timers normally last a long time many outlive the machine itself.

Are you sure it is the timer or is it something else that is stopping the timer from running.

It is fairly rare to get parts that are bad right out of the box but does happen.

Actually as far as most washers, Whirlpool would be the best. But that timer is cheap, and made of plastic, and generally lasts about 3 to 5 years in my experience. I replace a ton of those timers, in Whirlpool, and Maytag. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
