I bought a used GE Profile cooktop, and of course it did not come with the mounting brackets or foam installation tape. I found the brackets, but cannot seem to locate the tape or figure out what kind of tape to use. A forum thread suggested this product for another GE model,

Part Number: AP2634968 MFG Part Number: WB2X9902
but when I plug my model number into the compatibility tester for that tape, it tells me that it's not compatible with my JP960. Help!!! I'm tearing my hear out trying to find the correct tape! Is there some kind of generic foam tape I can pick up at my local hardware store?

just logged in to my customernet account. your part no is correct. the foam tape is used to cushion and separate the glass from the countertop. go to the hardware store and by a small role of storm door insulation tape, about 1/4 inch wide. sticky on one side to adhere to edge of glass or on countertop. works fine.
