Hi everyone, new guy here

I have a Maytag washer MVWC6WW1 and it started acting up. Sometimes when you start it it will agitate before it fills. Sometimes it fills but won't spay any water during the rinse cycle. Sometimes it gets to the spin cycle and starts to spay water and the cloths never spin properly. What should I be looking at?

Are these machines just lemons? I think the last Maytag I had lasted about 4-5 years. I really don't want to replace these, I just had to spend money on a transmission for my daughters car but if I have to I will.

Thanks in advance
Ken

These washers have major problems with their temperature switches. Also known as the load sense switch. It controls the agitation function and the water inlet valves. It is an electronic device and has a pressure sensor that very accurately measures the tub water level via this sensor and input from a water flow meter. Open the control panel and unplug the pressure hose from the switch. Blow into the hose to make sure it is clear. Also unplug the two wire connectors and then plug everything back in and see if the problem goes away. If not, then replace the switch.

Thanks

Eric,

Thanks for the tip. It literally took maybe 10 minutes. We washed 2 load so far and it seems to be working correctly.

Thanks again!
