Hi! Have Maytag MFD2561KES...Refrigerator is intermittently freezing foods. Although I keep setting the temperature to 38…Sometimes when I open it will read 34, 35, 36….If I raise the temp to 40 on the control it still stays colder than it should and reads lower. Other issues are the waterline is freezing so we cannot get water from the fridge. I defrosted the fridge and then the waterline worked fine…but after 24 hours it is again frozen. Also I have frost on the damper control cover… I have been researching for days and see a handful of parts that could be related to these issues.. I guess my question is how do I determine which part I should try first. Freezer and ice maker are working fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Remove the damper cover and check if the damper door is frozen open.

I removed damper cover and although there is a little frost the around the cover..the door is not frozen...i found self test instructions online and the damper door opens and shuts fine and is blowing very cold air. It think the issue is it the damper door is staying open to long...i raised the temp in the refrigerator but every time i peek in the fridge the damper is still blowing cold air....any ideas?

Trying to replace thermistor in Maytag French Door Refrigerator Model # MFD2561KES. I am having issues getting to the thermistor itself. I was able to remove Part 9 light assembly but I am not able to access/repair the thermistor without removing another piece. I think I can see the thermistor through the cutouts on the right of “Part 4” but am unable to access it and do no not want force anything with the control panel so close. Can someone please instruct me on how to access the part so I can complete the repair?

Thanks in Advance!
