Hi folks, this is my first post. My family has a jenn-air electric oven that is built-in to the island in the middle of our kitchen. We've had the oven since the mid-90's. We're on the verge of selling our house, so ideally we would like to repair this oven instead of replacing it (which may involve a considerable amount of renovation-work/time/expense). We have our fingers crossed that this problem has a straight-forward fix.
The problem we've been experiencing since June 2013 is that the oven will pre-heat properly (although sometimes it is extremely slow), but then once it reaches the agreed-upon heat, it starts going down in temperature despite the digital oven reader displaying the proper degrees (the decrease is verified by an oven-thermometer we placed inside).
The oven-mechanic who came to fix it, felt it was a faulty computer part, so he replaced it, but this hasn't rectified the problem. The digital-display works fine, but the oven just isn't heating the way it should!
Thanks in advance for any advice/tips, ~Alex :)
