Frigidaire GLRS234ZAB2 fridge. After a couple power outages over a day, the fridge stopped working. Unplugged, set to coolest setting on freezer and fridge sides and replugged. All lights are on, no fans, no clicks, no hums from compressor. Forgot to check if the compressor was heating up or not, but everything sounds dead. From reading the interwebs I was thinking possible parts would be the Compressor Run Capacitor (MFG Part Number 5304464438) or Relay and Plug Kit ( 5304468029). Relatively cheap. But being that there`s still power, I noticed at the top of the fridge compartment is a little LED that should probably be giving me an error code of some kind that is dead could this be a problem with the defrost control board.

Fridge unplugged for 2 days, completely defrosted. Plugged into good circuit, lights on, o/w nothing. No hum from compressor, no fans, nothing heats up or circulates.

Sorry for not responding earlier but I was at the lake.
Odds are that the adaptive defrost board is toast as it is electronic and power problems can blow it.
It is a good idea to get an appliance surge protector for this outlet. richappy recommends 1,000 joule.
I would check the main temperature control thermostat just to be sure that it is closed. |

Replaced the ADB, now I can hear the damper close when I turn it on, which got me excited, but that's it. How do I check the main temp control Tstat?

How long have you waited?
Could be that you are in a defrost cycle.
Try turning the freezer control (item 21A in the Control Parts section) to see if the compressor and the fans will start.
To check the thermostat.
Unplug the uit and measure across the thermostat's contacts, should be 0 ohms.
Another way would be to unplug the unit and short the wires together.
Then plug it in.
If it fires up then the thermostat is bad. |

It is inside the ice maker.
It monitors the ice maker's tray/platen so that it know when the cubes are totally frozen so it can eject them and start a new cycle. |

Did you ever figure out what happened to your fridge? My frigidaire fridge just went out after several power outages yesterday and now reads a code 4, everything is getting warm in the freezer and fridge now.
