I just bought this dryer second hand. It will not stop drying until the door is opened. Can it be fixed? Thanks.

Here are your parts

It should be fixable.

I cannot find a wiring diagram for this unit so cannot be that helpful.
Do you have one?
If not you may want to check in the control console.

Does the timer advance?

Does it advance in timed dry and then shut of
The reason for this question is that in timed dry the timer motor is usually connected directly to power but in auto modes it gets power through a different circuit.

If it does not advance in timed dry then you could do a live test. Check across the timer motor for voltage (usually 120 volts AC) when the unit is running in timed dry. If there is voltage and the timer does not advance then the timer needs replacing.
It is best to have some electrical experience id you do a live test.

Looks like a new timer is pricy on this unit ($160.00 approx.)
