I need help with the wiring for the solenoid and motor. There are the two gounds, two orange, one with with spades jumpered together connecting them. Plus a black with white stripe, and a purple with black stripe. Any help it appreciated.

the violet wire goes to one side of the auger motor, one orange wire goes to the other side of the motor. the black goes to one side of the solenoid, and the other orange goes to the other side of the solenoid. one ground screw onto the solenoid and the other goes on the motor.

Ok perfect. Where is the best spot to put the ground on the motor? Seems the screws that hold it to the plastic face are recessed and wouldn't work too well, although I could carve a groove in the plastic. Any other thoughts?

some of the motors have a male terminal under a screw and the terminal pushes on. the terminal would be on one of the two screws holding the motor rotor in place. take an allen wrench and remove on of the screws on the motor. remove only one screw. put the screw thru the ground wire and put screw back in motor. I am looking at the picture, looks like the one on the right would be best. by removing only the one screw, everything will stay in place and you will have no worries. good luck

I, too, need the wiring instructions for my GE ice maker's auger motor and solenoid. I've attached a photo. I have purple wire, a double orange, a black and a ground (which I attached to the solenoid). Also, does it matter which prong (right or left) that you attach the wire to? I think as my picture shows, I just need to switch the purple and black with each other?
I also want to confirm that I mounted the solenoid correctly. There is a metal piece sticking out from the Styrofoam square. I have that piece facing out.
