Amana BC-20E refrig w/bottom freezer cools OK in freezer but no fan when pushing in door switch; however, upper compartment cooling is almost nil.
I suspect evaporator fan: Do you agree; if so, how would I check this?
Thanks.

Yes sounds reasonable to me. Here are your parts Replacement parts for AMANA BC20E | AppliancePartsPros.comCould check it with a meter if the motor's coil is open it is shot. Note: even if the coil does measure some resistance, it may still be shot. Could also check across its connectors for voltage (120 volts AC), if it is getting voltage and not rotating it is shot. Could also remove it from the unit, attack a line cord to it, plug it in and see if it rotates |

Thanks for your reply.
As you suggested, I ohmed-out the evaporator fan motor coil -- it was open (and the winding paper wrap was charred). I also checked for 120 VAC from blue to white coil leads but could find no voltage w/compressor runnning and door switch pushed in.
I can't be sure 120V should be on the motor blue lead unless fan operates continuously. Should I be following the blue lead upstream to see if other damage has ocurred? Wiring diagram affixed to rear of unit is nearly unreadable.
Thanks again.

Sorry I do not have a wiring diagram so cannot help much.
I would trace it back until you find out why it does not have power at the motor.
Since this unit has a door switch, I would check that first |
