Whirlpool A/C in wall unit, costly enough to replace, but all that is broken is the plastic stem on the Rotational On/Off Switch. Item 26 in parts diagram possibly PART NUMBER: 1158669(may be vendorpart number and not Whirlpool number) which is now discontinued. Certainly another item should be able to substitute the unit that goes ON and OFF and sets speed at Quick comfort/Low Med High and Fan. It was made by GE. No one lists a substitute, but isn't there a way short of throwing away entire unit which otherwise works fine? Could I maybe disassemble the switch in some way and get a plastic stem somewhere? I currently have broken dial at one setting "quick comfort" and use the thermostat to turn it on/off, but want it to work the right way again. Thanks for any input

Hello,

Did you ever find a substitute for the switch?

Thx, Kyle
