I have purchased a new soap dispenser assembly (part # AP2802340 (263088) - Dispenser assembly) from applianceparts.com. I have gone through the great instructions posted on this forum for replacing the dispenser (thanks!).

But in comparing the new dispenser to the original, I have a concern. On the right side of the new dispenser (right as you face the closed dishwasher door) there is an opening to the door interior space where it was sealed up in the original part. This seems like it would let water into the door space from the opening under the sliding soap cover.

Am I just being paranoid? I was concerned partly because you make a special point about avoiding leaks around the dispenser when replacing it.

thanks,
Peter

Same problem here too. I've let the washer run and watched a few drop splash out of the compartment. It seems odd - is this supposed to be a vent??

Things like that should have a perfect seal such as a gasket or perfection in design. I'd probably seal it with silicon glue
