I noticed that my Kenmore ice maker made a lot of noise when ejecting ice and had other issues, so I bought and installed a generic replacement. The old one was shot since the tray liner was flaking and crusted. It had been with the fridge since it was built in 2002.

This unit dumps semi-circle shaped ice into a pan in the freezer.

Anyway, the new ice maker makes a batch of ice every 6-8 hours, not 1-2 hours as it should.

I used the old wiring harness since the replacement kit didn't have an exact match for it. I don't know what the bulge on the black line is, but I assume it's either a temperature sensor or a fuse.

The ice maker cycles properly, but it's very slow.

Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
