I have a maytag mdc4650 portable dishwasher and the control panel won't light up. I replaced the control panel about a year or so ago. The door handle latch seems to stick. Could it be the door latch? Thanks

Check your breaker and check the junction box where the wires come in make sure you're grounded and have 120 present and the wires are black to black white to white (i've seen reverse polarity actually have a machine not function properly). Yes it can be the door latch usually has 2 switches on it telling the main board it's ok to move forward and allow the unit to let water in. Check the door latch alignment and screws to make sure it's in properly. Continuity test the door latch switches if they check out ok go to the main board and check the thermal fuse to see if it's good if it's burned out it could just be a bad fuse or it could be other related issues that blew that fuse make sure to examine harness and components if this is the problem. If everything seems ok replace that fuse they're usually fairly cheap and follow the instructions in the fuse bag if it comes with spare wires with the fuse use those wires it's a must! Good luck
