I just replaced the motor coupler on this washer. It now makes a high pitched squeal during the spin and agitation cycles. It never did this before. I removed the motor and reseated it in hopes it was misaligned, but it's still doing it.
It real hard to pinpoint since I can't seem to run the machine without the housing on. And the squeal is so high pitched I doubt I'be be able to tell anyway...
It changes pitch when the cycle stops almost as if some brakes where dragging. Do these machines have brakes?

One common problem people seem to have when replacing their own motor coupler is that they don't get them on the shafts far enough and when you remount the motor, there's far too much pressure on the coupler and motor. If you got the coupler with the metal inserts, they are much tighter on the shafts. Use a socket and hammer and tap them on til they are flush with the end of the shafts. You can jump out the lid switch to run it with cabinet off. What is model number of your washer?

How much should it cost to have this type of issue fixed? I don't have the tools and my husband isn't here right now.
