I have a Kenmore Elite Oasis HT washer, model # 110.28092700. During the high speed spin the washer makes a very loud noise. I believe the bearing on the tub is bad and needs replacing however I am having a hard time finding the replacement parts. Can anyone help me?

You cannot get those parts separately for this washer, you must replace the entire outer tub assembly.

Whirlpool did come out with a bearing replacement kit for this type of washer design last year however I don't believe it is compatible with all versions of this washer design. The compatibility check box at APP says that it is not compatible with your specific model, so I can't say for sure about your model. Maybe someone else can chime in. The part numbers below are for the kit and the installation tools required.

Thank you for your quick response. I was afraid that was going to be the answer but needed confirmation. How difficult is the outer tub to replace? We have had some very bad experiences with Sears repair techs so I really don't want them back in my house.

See this video. It's not all that difficult, just take your time and you should be fine.

Is this true for model 110.28081 also?

I tried to post my own questions, but I get a cryptic "Post rejected..." message.

I have kenmore elite oasis washer with a bad bearing. Looked online and ordered a new bearing kit for it. Watched an instructional you tube video as well as followed the instructions. And for life of me cannot get the driveshaft out of the tub. The instructions say to hit it with a hammer, which I did for 30 minutes! Looking on this site I see I may have to replace the entire tub? Any advice is greatly appreciated. It's model number is 110.27082604. When I ordered the bearing kit it had my model number as one that would work. Please help before I throw this machine off a cliff. Thanks in advance.

I had a heck of a time too, but kept hitting away with a singlejack. Afterward, my neighbor said to heat the shaft with a torch and that would have loosened it. Good luck.

Finally got the driveshaft out. When I took the tub out the driveshaft came with it. I had to turn tub upside down and beat the shaft, it had rusted to the inside. What I didn't realize is the videos on YouTube show new washers, any washer that's been used for awhile will have rust on the inner parts making a simple job a lot harder. Great forum helped a lot!
