Here are your parts
Parts for Frigidaire MDE336REW1 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.com

I am not sure about how red it will get.

How do you know it is getting red hot?

If you run the dryer with the door open then it will definitely get red hot as there is no air flow over the heating coils.
If you do this for too long it will blow the thermal limiter (fuse).

You exhaust temperature should be around 140 degrees F on full heat.
Your thermostat on the blower opens at 140 degrees and re-closes at 130 degrees F.

Check that the lint filter is clean and that the vent system is OK.
