When my Jenn Air stove was about 7 years old, the black paint started bubbling and then peeling around the burners...especially the grill side of the cooktop. I have used high heat spray paint for a temporary fix, but it never lasts and it is not textured like the original surface. I contacted Jenn Air and they no longer carry a replacement top for this stove. I am interested in resurfacing it myself OR sending taking it to someone to refinish, but I can not find anything in my internet searches. Additionally, I don't really know what kind of surface it has. The guy at Jenn Air told me it was impossible for it to peel because of how they manufacture their tops. I told him to do a google search and he'd see lots of people that have complained their Jenn Air's are bubbling and peeling. He didn't comment. :)

Anyone else had luck in refinishing the top? The stove is working just fine for being 13 years old, so I'm not ready to buy a new one.

I would love to join in as well. My cook top has been bubbling for 4-5 years and is just getting worse. Let me know if I can help with more evidence!
As this is not an isolated problem, I think they need to help us out.
Thanks.

How did you turn out? I too am researching ways to repaint my jenn air stove top. I've had a lot of trouble with my jen air/maytag appliances. We built new in 2000 and bought all maytag/jenn air only to have bought at a time when quality control wasn't as it should have been.

I too have this model and paint started bubbling after about 7 years. The range was purchased 15 years ago and although I have touched it up with touch up paint it now looks really bad. Apparently this part is longer available for purchase. Has anyone had luck repainting the entire top?

Here is another Jenn-Air with the top enamel gone. They tried to just cover their stainless steel cooktop with enamel, and nothing sticks adequately to stainless steel. When my brother put in a new kitchen and told me he was looking at the Jenn-Air, I told him to look somewhere else. This is really annoying. My first Jenn-Air was fine, but this one is less than top notch. I'll get something else next time. It is embarrassing to have such a stove in my kitchen.
