My top loading whirlpool washer stops after the wash cycle. Does not drain water. BUT.. If I open the lid for about 20 minutes and then shut it, it proceeds with the remaining cycles. What could possibly be making it get stuck there

Eric.. I could only find embedded numbers on the back. They are 3357978. This is a 14 yr old whirlpool. Heavy duty-large capacity 5 cycle machine

That's not the model number. Problem could be intermittent lid switch or timer. Must have model number to view wiring diagram and advise on part numbers.

Well that's a simple bare bones model. I would try bypassing the lid switch (yours is the second one in the video). If that doesn't appear to be the problem, then replace the timer. Any parts bought from APP can be returned if they don't fix the problem.
