maytag performa washing machine wont agitate or spin replaced timer, checked motor, checked agitaitor all fine. what else?

Check the lid switch, it is in series with the motor neutral feed. Open switch = no motor operation.

how do you check lid switch?

Open the control panel, disconnect the two conductor male/female connector with the tan wires going to it. Check continuity between the pins of the connector with the male pins in it. With lid closed, should read zero ohms (short).
