MY dishwasher, model MDB7609AWW1 has power but won't start with the start pushbutton. Troubleshooting to date:
Press the heated dry and normal button twice in rapid succesion (from the internet).
RESULTS: All button lights light momentarily and machine then kicks into a wash cycle with the wash light illuminated. Unable to change any settings, i.e. presss the heated dry, xxx, or sanitize pushbuttons and obtain a backlight or any change. Also the cancel pushbutton which I attempted to push 30 seconds later and periodically after that was ineffective at stopping the cycle.
Turn off power at the main breaker for 20 minutes.
Upon power restoration later, all button lights light momentarily. Still unable to utilize the start pushbutton to start the machine. Still able to start as above with the rapid cycling of the heated dry and normal wash pushbuttons.
Does the rapd pushing of the two buttons above bypass any interlocks that I can check. Also what does it tell me about the control panel health - does anyone know?

What further troubleshooting can I do to narrow it to the control panel - does anyone have a tech sheet for this model - I saw one for another model that gives checks for an ohmmeter, which I have.

Thank you for the tech sheets, Denman, they were extremely helpful. I am still troubleshooting - I disconnected the ribbon connector connecting the control board to the control panel (front pushbutton controls) I inspected the control board, no obvious visual issues. There was some discoloration on some of the lines on the ribbon connector where it transitioned from back of the machine to the front touch pads. I partially peeled back the plastic front of the panel, partially peeled back the flexible circuit board underneath to the cancel pushbutton, shined a bright light through the ribbon panel and where it transitioned from front to back there was some discoloration on some lines. Also saw that lines one (1) and thirteen (13) of the fourteen (14) pin connector appeared to have a discontinuity - i.e. could see light through those connectors. The balance appeared to have continuity but I am still concerned about the discoloration on some other lines (wonder if it could be heat damage from some of the micro thin wires carrying too much current, but don't know) Am going to attempt repair with conductive glue and insulation tape that another internet user recommended, will let you know how it goes. Once again, thank you and let me know if you have any other suggestions.
