My Whirlpool leaks, I took the back cover off the door and have a picture of where I believe I am missing a part that is causing the leak.

If someone could let me know what part I am missing...

Hello Blakester117,
After looking at your picture, I think you are referring to the round place in the picture as the spot that is leaking. If so, you will need a new door liner since the round place is a mold mark from where the door was molded at the factory. We can provide you with a part number if you could please re-post with the model number from the units' I.D. tag.

OK, new problem. I cleaned the steam vent out and put the cover back on. But, now it isn't getting any water at all. I think it might be the solenoid? Is there any way to test it and see if it's the problem. I took it off and have a picture of it here. I'm pretty sure this is the only thing that controls water into the dishwasher...

Hello Blakester117,
There is a float switch in the bottom of the unit that, if held up, will discontinue power to the water inlet valve. If nothing is holding it up, you should test from one terminal to the other terminal in the connector that supplies the power to the valve. Unplugging the valve will give an accurate reading of the power to the water valve. Be sure to turn the unit to test for the power supplied to the valve. If no power is supplied to the valve, you need to check the switch under the unit at the float. If it is good, you will need to test the door switches for line and neutral supplies.
As far as the water valve goes, testing the coil isn't necessarily a good test since there is no way to tell if the valve is mechanically opening or not. You should make sure water pressure is getting to it though, in case a water line got crimped during the previous repair. The water valve is the most common cause of this complaint.Part number: AP3037492
