Kitchenaid KSRP25FNWH00 fridge is warm (50+ degrees) but freezer is cold (<32 degrees F). Checked louver in fridge and it's open. Cleaned coils under fridge already.

Opened freezer and found it frosted/frozen.

I'm assuming that I need to force a defrost and start from there.... where do I find the tech sheet?

Thx!

The freezer should be 0 to 5 degrees F and the fresh food should be about 40 degrees F.

If the picture of your evaporator coils is how you found them shortly after you removed the cover then you do not have a defrost problem.
For it to be a defrost problem the coils have to be iced/frosted over to the point where the evaporator/freezer fan cannot pull air through them.
Also if it is a defrost cycle the unit should run OK for at least a couple days after a manual defrost. The time it will run OK depends on the ambient humidity and how often the doors are opened so it may run OK for a week or more.

Is the compressor running all the time or is it cycling?
This is one symptom of a defrost problem.
Note that there are other things that can cause this symptom.
You can usually hear it but you should also be able to feel it vibrating and it should be warm.
It should be on whenever the condenser/compressor fan is on as they are wired in parallel.

Is the evaporator/freezer fan on?

Thank you for the info.

When I step through the diagnostics, everything seems to work just fine except that the defrost element does NOT heat up. Maybe the bi-metal is open? I didn't try to bypass.

When I had the cover off the back of the freezer, I was getting airflow into the fridge. When it was back down in place, the airflow into the fridge was only a very very small amount.
