I went to get something out of my freezer today and realized the food is not frozen. We have a side by side hot point fridge/freezer that is about 4-5 years old. The fridge seems to be working fine. The freezer is humming but its just not getting cold enough. I felt around the seal and it does feel like there is a little cool air escaping at the bottom, but its just a small spot, so I'm not sure thats our problem.
We turned it off and took the back off and the coils to not seem frozen. We are going to let it defrost a bit and then turn back on.
Any ideas for me? I know nothing about freezer repair. I would bring in a repair man, but I am completely broke due to other home repairs just completed.
Thanks in advance.

(defrost system) Was there any frost at all on the coils. Should be a light frost all over. If not could be low on freon and your unit should have a 5 year warranty on the sealed system. Is the fan running in the freezer and the one at the compressor around back.
