The plastic connector from my old Whirlpool dryer Temperature Selector switch to the control knob has broken. The part number is 688712 (original 692239). The part is not available anywhere (was 1 on ******** last month). I can remove the switch, but the plastic is broken at the base. Is there any possible replacement for this switch/connector, or is it dryer replacement time due to a broken plastic connector??

Bobmike, The part [688712] and [692239]have been discontinued by the manufacturer. You may want to contact a local appliance servicer or parts distributor to inquire if they have something in stock using the manufacturing part numbers. You may want to review the inter net for antique, discontinued or obsolete appliance parts dealers as well. Good Luck and Thanks
