I have a Maytag Atlanits washer and it will not drain, I have looked at the lid switch and put a long metal piece in the back to see if the switch might be bad and it still does not drain or spin. When the lid is down the knob has a slight hum coming from it but no movement and it doesnt matter where I put the dial, it will not work. Any suggestions? I was really hoping it was the lid switch but I think I elimniated that? I cannot seem to find a photo of what the lid switch should look like either if it is in proper working order. It is not an easy lid swith to look at, my old washer had it on the side and I could easily test it.

This washer is not connected to any water source, I got this used and want to see if I can fix it and sell it. Does it need to be connected to water in order to troubleshoot the issue?

Unplug the washer, open the control panel, unplug the connector from the lid switch and jump out the black and yellow wires. Plug in washer and try spin mode. If nothing, could be a bad timer, motor, broken wire or loose connection.

Model specific. Some have screws across the top, remove screws, rotate panel forward. Some have a back panel that can be removed. Some have clips under each end of the panel.
