Ok , my older Maytag side by side icemaker needs a repair. water leaks or splashes where fill tube meets icemaker and freezes into a clump right below that area. Have de-thawed it 2 times and it happens again and again. looked as best I could at fill tube it seems ok and not cracked but I cant really see the end of it where it meets the fill cup but during this problem when I squeeze the fill tube it seems like its clogged somewhat with frozen water.

During this time the icemaker makes ice just fine but then eventually stops because the bar wont go all the way down as its hitting the frozen lump of ice thats forming slowly each day.

I was able to watch a fill cycle and put my hand near where tube meets fil cup and I felt water splashing from that area thus causing this clump of ice formation.

From what I have researched here in other posts I may need a new fill valve and possibly a new fill tube ? If so what part # exactly will I need for each? and is the fill valve the most likely culprit ?

thanks

Mark
