My top load whirlpool washing machine won't stop spinning on the final cycle. It would literally spin for hours unless I manually shut it off. The water drains, but it continues to spin. Do I need to replace some sort of timer??

I am not sure where to find the model number. The only thing close to a model number I could find was on the inside lid and it said - SM8525079 Rev A Could that be a model number??

That's not the model number. It should be under the lid on the top panel. Eric

Check on the back of the control panel or the back panel of the washer. If you can't find it, we can't help you.
