After running self-clean function, the oven will not heat up. All of the controls work fine and the broil function works fine. After reading through posts, I thought maybe resetting the thermal limit switch might work. But I can't locate it on the back of the stove after removing the panels. Please help.

Try unplugging the unit for a couple minutes to see if it will reset. Check the bake element with a meter. Check the wiring from the control board to the bake element. If both are OK odds are that the control board is shot. Be sure to unplug the unit when working on it. I am assuming that the oven stays in pre-heat and does not show that it is ready. If it does show that is ready then you may have an oven sensor problem. Below is the control board. Click on the picture for more info about the part. Part number: AP4587739
You may also need a faceplate as it is peel and stick. Sometimes it will come off OK by heating it up with a hair dryer but often it gets damaged. Part number: AP4567241

I have unplugged the range for a few minutes and it hasn't helped. If something were wrong with the control panel wouldn't it not work all together? Everything else works except the oven...even the broil function works. What about the temperature probe? Could it also be the problem? Yes...it stays in preheat mode without ever heating up.

No.
The control board has a lot of parts on it and if one part blows then the function it controls will not work.

That is why I asked about preheat.
If the probe is the problem then the control board thinks it is ready so does not heat up the oven.
Since your unit stays in preheat the control board knows that it should send power to an element but for some reason does not. |
