Hi all.
My stove has this wierd problem. When it's cold and you turn it on everything works fine. But when it heats up after about 20 minutes it freaks out and keeps reading ERR F20. The oven beeps and beeps, press the clear/off button and it stops for about 1 minute then with nothing on beep beep again ERR F20????? When it cools down agin it works fine for a while until its hot again.
I can't find anything on F20 except one thread where the guy said its a power problem and he cleaned his plug terminals and it worked fine again. I did that and it still does not work properly
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Nigel.

Nigel, According to the Frigidaire technical documentation, most likely the cause of the problem is a bad Electronic Oven Control (EOC). Check the wire harness and the P4 connector at the EOC. If the wire harness and the connector are fine, replace the EOC. - The part number for the EOC is AP3776965 In order to provide the right part number for the overlay I need the last letter of the model number. Gene.

Hi there, OK thanks for getting back to me so quick, the full model number of the stove is CPLEFM99EC but I still don't understand why it only does not work when the stove gets hot? The top where the ecu board isn't hot so why would the ecu board be gone but only when the stove is hot? I'll try anything I guess cause the wife is ready to make me go buy a new stove with the condition that its not a frigidaire ever again.

Hi, some more info for you. I was at work the other week talking to one of my co-workers about my dumb stove problem at lunch and he said "I got a frigidaire stove and it works OK, its about 2 yrs old, blah blah, well lo and behold he has the SAME stove model.
So we finally got around to swapping ECU's tonight and my stove still has an F5 error when I immediately turn on any main burner. The F20 error is gone though. Anyway, we took his ECU back to his house thinking we fried his ECU on my stove, plugged his ECU in and it works just fine so we then came back to my house and put his ECU back in my stove a second time and still I get an F5 error.
He is now going to go home with my ECU and he is going to plug it in to his stove and see what it does but why is my stove getting an F5 error still? Is it the board that the burner on/off switches are going to? What the heck is that board called and could it be causing my F5 error?
Thanks.
Nigel.

Hey, it's me again, same stupid stove, different problem. For the record I did have to change out the EOC last time but it still did not work properly, a tech had to come out and replace another part too. He said the new stove EOC was not communicating with an older outdated board in the back. So it's been working fine UNTIL last week.
Now the error is F7 32 so I was told to replace the surface control board. I put a brand new $135 board in it and no luck, the exact same error still flashes. I'm really getting tired of this dumb stove. Any suggestions as to what it might be? The odd thing is the oven works perfectly fine, its just the 4 burners.
Thx in advance.

I once again fixed the stove:
After replacing the surface element board I put back in the old potentio meter on RR and it works now. The old board did not work with the new or old potentio and the new board only works with the old potentio. Beware, there are 2 different potentios for this stove too. One is a dual element and one is a single element.
