Good day everyone, and thanks in advance for any help.

The compressor in my sid-by-side Kitchen Aid refrigerator never starts, is cold to the touch, and no clicks ever heard from it. Furthermore, the fan next to the compressor never runs. Obviously, the refrigerator does not cool nor freeze.

(Yes it is plugged into the receptacle :) )

The internal fans run, and the internal lights go on when the doors are open. The control panel seems to function in terms of shutting down, adjusting the temperature readout, etc.

I am tempted to believe that the control board needs to be replaced (I am suspecting the relays on the board are broken), is there anything else I need to check? (such as the compressor starter kit, the run capacitor, etc).

Once again, thanks in advance.

Hi.

According to the diagram and based on your description you should replace the control board, located inside the control panel in the refrigerator compartment.

Hi Simon,

Thank you so much for your help. I tested the winding/coils of the compressor, and they were OK (the resistance measured to the expected ohm numbers 5~10 ohms). I also tested the starter relay, and the run capacitor, and they were also OK.

I replaced the control board, as you recommended, and my refrigerator is now working like anew.

Thank you so much for your help, and thanks to all the people who post questions/solutions on this forum and YouTube, you guys are true angles.
