When trying to start self-clean, I get the message "door" momentarily, then E1 F5. Someone told me the entire digital control module needs to replaced... and that they are very expensive... not worth it. Does that sound right?
I can't find the model number, I will if it matters.

Check the door switch for continuity. It should be continuity when the door is closed. If the reading is incorrect, replace the door switch.

The door latch solenoid and switches assembly is located on the back of the range. Check the solenoid for continuity. If there is no continuity, replace the solenoid assembly.

Check the door latch switch for continuity. It should be continuity when the door latch solenoid is activated and the plunger extends. If there is no continuity, replace the solenoid assembly.

If the readings are correct, check for 120 VAC to the solenoid while the control calls for self clean.

If the voltage is incorrect and all wires between the door latch and the control board are good, replace the oven control board.

- The door switch Part number: AP2989888
Part number: AP2989888

- The solenoid assembly Part number: AP2989526
Part number: AP2989526

- The control board Part number: AP2990253
