Have a Whirlpool Refrigerator that is about 5 yrs old. Recently after changing the water filter, and trying to reset the filter light, it wouldn't reset. It would lock out the water and ice controls. I was able to unlock the controls for awhile, but now the water doesn't function at all. The ice will. I'm thinking its the control board behind the controls. How do I check to see if its bad and would there be any sort of bypass I could do, to make it work without the controls. Thanks for your help.
John

Hi John, Check for 120 VAC to the water dispenser solenoid (green) at the water inlet valve on the back of the refrigerator while the water dispenser calls for water. If the reading is correct, replace the water inlet valve. If the reading is incorrect, replace the dispenser control. It comes as a part of the dispenser front cover. If you need the correct part number, post the color of it. - The water inlet valve Part number: AP5263471
